Located in the heart of Pune, Wadeshwar offers an inviting experience for anyone looking for a flavorful meal that feels both comforting and authentic. Situated at 1229/A, Fergusson College Rd, Ganeshwadi, Deccan Gymkhana, this beloved restaurant has become a go-to destination for those craving traditional Indian cuisine with a modern twist. Its charming ambiance and consistent quality make it a spot that both locals and visitors can rely on for a satisfying dining experience.

As you walk into Wadeshwar, the warm, cozy setting welcomes you with an unmistakable feeling of comfort. The decor is simple but appealing, with wooden tables, soft lighting, and an air of familiarity that instantly makes you feel at home. Whether you’re here for a casual breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the atmosphere invites you to relax and enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace.

One of the highlights of Wadeshwar is its extensive menu, which offers a range of delicious vegetarian options that showcase the best of Indian flavors. The restaurant is especially known for its flavorful dosas, which come in various forms and sizes. The crispy, golden dosas are packed with perfectly spiced fillings, and their chutneys add an extra layer of richness to every bite. Whether you prefer the classic masala dosa or a more experimental option, the dosas at Wadeshwar are sure to impress.

For those who enjoy a bit of variety, the restaurant also serves other popular South Indian dishes like idlis, vadas, and uttapams. Each item is prepared with care, and you can taste the authenticity in every bite. The sambar, served alongside these dishes, has just the right amount of spice and is a perfect complement to the flavors of the meal. If you’re in the mood for something different, you can try their thali, which offers a sampling of various dishes that give you a true taste of traditional Indian cuisine.

The beverages at Wadeshwar are also worth mentioning. Their fresh fruit juices are a refreshing accompaniment to your meal, and the masala chai is a must-try. It’s the kind of chai that makes you want to sit back and savor every sip, especially on a cool Pune evening. The restaurant does a fantastic job of pairing food and drinks to create a holistic dining experience.

What truly sets Wadeshwar apart is the level of service. The staff here is friendly, attentive, and always ready to help you choose from the menu. They provide recommendations based on your preferences, ensuring that each visit is personalized. On several occasions, I’ve found the staff’s guidance particularly helpful when deciding on the best dishes to order based on the time of day or the season.

Another impressive aspect of Wadeshwar is its ability to maintain consistent quality. No matter when you visit, you can expect the same delicious food and exceptional service. This consistency has earned the restaurant a loyal following, with many patrons returning for the familiar comfort of their favorite dishes. It’s not uncommon to see regulars coming in, chatting with the staff, and clearly enjoying the sense of community that Wadeshwar fosters.

  • Wadeshwar @ FC Road Pune is one of the most famous restaurant. Wadeshwar brand never disappoints in taste and service. Appam are too good with mint chutney which I generally don't like. Idli and Medu wada is soft and taste delicious with sambar and coconut chutney. We also tried SPDP which was also fine.

  • Ghee Ragi Dosa is good! Served with coconut chutney (very good), aloo masala (nice) and Sambhar (not good). Mogapudi idly is awesome. Green chutney served with it didn't had salt though! Kothimbir Vadi shouldn't be missed! Appe are okay. Dipped idly sambhar is not okay as I didn't like their sambhar taste. Pineapple shira also tastes good. Masala tea is again highlight. Quantity is double for tea but so is price Rs. 66. Toilet not good!

  • One of the prominent hotel on FC road. Went there after many tears. Mostly famous for south Indian dishes. Most of the time it is crowded and need to wait but fortunately we got the table. Otherwise the wait time is usually 15-20 mins. Vehicle parking is a major issue on this busy road. Food is good. Forgot to click the menu card but otherwise almost all south Indian dishes are available.

  • Excellent eatery , enjoyed all that we tried - pav bhaji, pani poori, dosa , moong dal halwa .. if you are looking for a place to try authentic maharashtrian food then this is the place!

  • People told me it’s overhyped, but I thought the food was pretty good — and cheaper than Haldiram’s! Tried their thalipeeth and vada rasam, loved both. Definitely worth a visit. hard to find place during the weekends.

  • The food, the taste, the smell was superb. Tried a new thing pineapple sheera, it was amazing and the waiter was very well behaved.

  • Great food, service and ambience. However, if you order ur drinks in fractions (1 by 2, 3 by 5) there is a slight change that the staff will swap the numerators and the denominators. Better to order drinks in whole numbers and ask for extra empty glasses.

  • Wadeshwar on FC Road is a solid pick for quick, affordable South Indian food. The Molgapodi Idli and Rasam Wada are excellent, and the Cheese Onion Uttappa is a crowd-pleaser. Service is usually fast, though it gets crowded during peak hours. Sambar has a sweet Maharashtrian twist — might not be for everyone, but I liked it. One star off for occasional dips in chutney freshness. Still, a reliable spot for breakfast or a casual lunch in Pune. Knocking off one star just for chutney, it could be better.
